Who is the program for?
The InnoJura Platform connects startups and SMEs in advanced manufacturing fields. It’s open to Jura-based SMEs, as well as startups from Switzerland or abroad that are already in the Jura, planning to move there, or collaborating with a Jura-based SME.

The InnoJura Platform, powered by Basel Area Business & Innovation, is an industrial innovation platform that connects startups and SMEs to co-create real-world solutions in advanced manufacturing sectors, such as medtech. It helps startups and SMEs turn shared challenges into growth opportunities.
The program welcomes startups with innovative technologies, and SMEs looking to access new capabilities or diversify their product portfolio. Typically, most startups and SMEs participating in the InnoJura Platform came there via the InnoJura Accelerator or Academy, respectively. Once matched, both sides collaborate on pilot projects that combine startup agility with SME experience and infrastructure.
Each year, Basel Area Business & Innovation collects innovation needs from SMEs and matches them with startups offering relevant solutions. Matched partners receive coaching, project facilitation, and access to test environments to co-develop prototypes or industrial pilots.
Startups gain access to manufacturing infrastructure, expertise and real-world validation, while SMEs gain exposure to and expertise in cutting-edge technologies and startups’ methods. The result is faster innovation, lower development risk, and shared commercial opportunities.
The program primarily serves advanced manufacturing fields, such as medtech and precision mechanics, but also supports related sectors such as materials science and sustainability.
The InnoJura Platform builds on the foundations set by InnoJura Accelerator and InnoJura Academy, completing the pathway from training and partnership readiness to active co-creation. It’s the point where learning becomes implementation.
While Basel Area Business & Innovation does not provide direct cash funding, startups participating in the InnoJura Platform can receive up to CHF 20,000 in in-kind support to cover project costs such as prototyping, testing or expert services. In some cases, this support can reach up to CHF 40,000 for startups that are based in the canton of Jura or collaborating with a Jura-based SME. This funding structure ensures resources go directly toward advancing tangible innovation projects.
Companies can express interest through the Basel Area Business & Innovation website or by contacting our Launch or Level up teams. Participation is free, and matches are made based on alignment of needs, technology and collaboration potential.
